I’m Charles Olivier Steinberg, a native New Yorker with a background in film and music journalism, informed and colored by a life in the city and abroad. I’ve got plenty of thoughts, takes, and angles on audio and visual media, and I love an opportunity to contribute to the greater (or smaller) discourse on art in popular culture at large.

I've contributed to various publications, becoming a staff writer for such outlets as Other Music, The Blank Mag, Under the Radar Magazine, and Composer Magazine for Spitfire Audio.

Recognizing the shift in trend towards podcasts as a mode of media consumption, and a lively platform for cultural analysis, I have focused my energies into this medium. I have created three podcasts about the music for film and television, hosting long-form interview shows with renowned composers, carrying out every facet and stage of production from end to end.

My newest show – The Blank Chat – just launched for The Blank Mag. I also created and hosted the industry favorite Composer Magazine Podcast, and Check the Score for Under the Radar Magazine.

Currently, I’m pursuing collaborative projects and assignments in journalism and cultural commentary, in any format. Get in touch if you want to talk shop.

> Pitched and created ‘Check the Score”, one of the first podcasts for the long-running publication with a focus on alternative music and pop culture.

> Ascended to the positions of media editor and soundtracks editor during tenure. Launched the ‘Keeping Score’ composer series, assuming the role of managing editor in coordinating published content.
